Pork with Chinese Radish Soup


Pork with Chinese Radish is a traditional Chinese dish that is delicious on rainy days or as a starter to a main course. This recipe serves 4.

You will need:
  • 1 pound pork, finely diced
  • 1 medium Chinese radish, aka daikon radish, 1/2 inch slices
  • 3 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 3 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili oil
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 4 - 5 tablespoons olive oil

Preparation

  1. In large skillet, heat few tablespoons olive oil and add pork, ginger, and garlic. Cook until brown, stirring constantly.

  2. Add soy sauce, rice wine, oyster sauce, chili oil and radish. Mix well.

  3. Add water and simmer 15 to 20 minutes with cover on, or until radish reaches softened state.

  4. Serve hot.
