Ma Po Tofu

Ma Po Tofu is a popular dish that combines tofu and spice that you'll love.


For the marinade, you will need:
  • 3 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 ½ Tbsp cornstarch

For the tofu, you will need:
  • ¼ lb pork, ground
  • 16 oz tofu, cubed
  • 4 green onions
  • 1 tsp Chinese black beans
  • 1 Tbsp chili bean paste
  • 3 Tbsp chicken stock
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 Tbsp water
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 Tbsp olive oil



  1. In a medium bowl, mix marinade ingredients, and place pork in, letting marinate for 20 minutes.

  2. Meanwhile, bring a medium size pan of water to a boil and drop cubed tofu in briefly for 3 minutes.

  3. Remove, drain, set aside.

  4. Heat oil in a large skillet and add pork in.

  5. Stir fry until pork is brown.

  6. Add black beans and mash into pork until blended well.

  7. Add chili paste, broth, tofu, and green onion.

  8. Turn heat to low and let cook for 4 minutes.

  9. While mixture is cooking, mix water, cornstarch, and soy sauce together in a small bowl.

  10. Mix well and add to skillet, stirring lightly.

  11. Remove from heat and serve.
