Sweet and Sour Green Beans

Sweet and Sour Green Beans is a flavorful side dish that pairs well with pork.


You will need:
  • 16 oz green beans, trimmed
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/4 apple cider vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp white sugar
  • 4 pieces bacon, cooked and crumbled (reserve bacon fat after cooking)



  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and place green beans in, letting boil for 15 to 20 minutes.
  2. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, place reserved bacon fat and add chopped onion.
  4. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes.
  5. Add vinegar and sugar.
  6. Mix well to ensure that sugar is dissolved.
  7. Add green beans and heat until warm through.
  8. Remove from heat, top with crumbled bacon and serve.
