Sweet and Easy Chinese Cabbage Salad

This Sweet and Easy Chinese Cabbage Salad recipe can be enjoyed by the entire family for lunch or dinner. The quick recipe steps and easy to find ingredients will become a favorite dish for any meal. This recipe serves 4 to 6.


For the dressing, you will need:
  • 1/3 - 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2/3 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • Pinch black pepper

For the garnish, you will need:
  • 1 package ramen noodles (discard flavor packet)
  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
  • 5 oz. sliced almonds

To prepare salad, you will need:
  • 1 head Chinese cabbage, preferably Bok Choy or Napa
  • 1 bunch green onions


  1. To prepare dressing, use small bowl to combine all dressing ingredients. Mix well, and set aside.

  2. To prepare salad, finely chop cabbage and green onions. Place in large bowl, and set aside.

  4. To prepare garnish, hand crush ramen noodles.

    *Preparation Tip: Crush noodles in original packaging to prevent mess, and remember to discard flavor packet.

  5. Brown ramen noodles, butter, and almonds in wok or skillet on medium heat. Set aside for garnish to top salad before serving.

  6. Mix cabbage mixture and dressing. Garnish with prepared mixture, and serve immediately

    *Preparation Tip: Salad will become soggy and wilt if stored.
