Hot Chili Oil


When you want to add a different type of homemade chili to your table, create Hot Chili Oil as a mouth-watering sauce that is great for spicing up any dish! This recipe yields about 1/3 cup.

You will need:
  • 1/3 cup peanut oil
  • 1/2 cup coarsely ground red pepper flakes

Preparation

    *Preparation Tip: Make sure to have a heat proof medium bowl available to transfer hot mixture in after cooking.


  1. Heat the oil in small saucepan over medium heat until slightly smoking.

  2. Add red pepper flakes and stir well. Flakes should snap, crackle and pop. Continue stirring. As soon as oil colors a bit, remove from heat and place mixture in heat proof bowl.

  3. Set mixture aside to let cool to room temperature.

  4. Place in serving dish.

  5. *Preparation Tip: After use, transfer chili to a glass jar that can be sealed tightly. Hot Chili Oil can be stored at room temperature for approximately one month.
